Date Algorithms
Studying Y2K lead me to two interesting things: source code analysis and date algorithms.
- Catalog of Free Compilers
and interpreters, including YACC and LEX and the like. I particularly lust
after the SQL
processors.
- Reasoning Systems Home Page
where they describe their tools for language manipulation.
- Reingold and Dershowitz’s Calendrical Calculations: a set of
algorithms
that everyone should use for date manipulation.
Some additional date and software development junk:
- A fun applet
showing how much time remains before some big event. I used it for Y2K countdown,
now it’s my retirement clock.
- A useless cost
estimating applet to help do year 2000 compliance planning.
- A useful Calendar show holidays in a given year.
